So, this weekend Eric, Katie, Jon, Kriss, and myself are attending the National Youth Worker’s Convention in Cincinnati. It’s pretty bomb. We’re basically gonna get to hear from tons of really smart dudes talk about different ideas for church and ministry. Its really sweet if you are the sort of person who is in to that.

We also get to be led in worship from dudes like Crowder and Shane and Shane and stuff like that. Its gonna be really cool.

I picked up David Crowder Band’s new album the other day. “Church Music” is the newest work by the Waco TX based band. Crowder Band has been around on the national scene since around 2000 and they have super influenced the face of Christian music.

One of the biggest things that has always discouraged me from “Christian” music (I put quotes because I don’t know how a song can become a Christian) is how much it seems to just be bad. Sam’s blog:: a quick thought

I was reminded the other day of the story in Joshua where Israel crosses over the Jordan (Joshua 3 and 4). In the story, after they get all crossed over, God has the Israelites build this monument out of stones and He says its purpose is to remind the Israelites of what all God has done for them.

That seems really simple, but there is an amazing truth in there. God knows we forget things. You would think that creating, sustaining, and saving us would be enough for us to remember who God. Yet, somehow we always seem to forget Him.
