Just want to make sure you are aware of the schedule this weekend for our prospective Student Minister candidate, Jonathan Downs and his wife Amy.

Friday, August 20th
@ 6:30 p.m. - Youth teachers/ workers meet with Jonathan & Amy
@ 8:00 p.m. - Students meet with Jonathan & Amy

Saturday, August 21st
@ 9 a.m. – Youth parents meet with Jonathan & Amy Downs

Sunday, August 22nd
@ 9:30am and 11 a.m. At the end of each Sunday School hour, Jonathan & Amy will spend some time in the Loft meeting students

@ 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. - open reception for any church member to meet with Jonathan & Amy

@ 7:00 p.m. - Church vote

The fall is quickly coming and with it is grade promotion. For upcoming 5th graders entering into middle school the amount of changes happening can be intimidating. A new school is enough of a big change by itself.

Knowing this, it is our desire for the upcoming 5th graders to have a smooth and even enjoyable transition into the youth ministry. It can be intimidating if you don’t know whats going on so we want to circumvent all of that and let you know how everything works.

Saturday August 21st at 4:30 (2 and a half hours before the comedy night) we will have a free dinner and meet and greet out in the pavilion for incoming families. You will get a chance to meet the 6th grade teachers and the leaders of the middle school ministry here at FBCO.

Below is an RSVP form to allow us to plan food properly. We look forward to seeing you there!

8th Grade retreat

If you are the sort of person who is in 8th grade than have I got the event for you. We are, in fact, having an 8th grade retreat.

What?:: A weekend away with the rest of the 8th graders at an awesome place with pond swimming, zip line riding, fire roasting, and blob jumping. You guys will work through three sessions about moving into h.s. and different issues students usually face in that transition

Where?:: High Hill Christian Retreat center in High Hill MO (for more info and directions visit www.highhillcamp.org)

When?:: Saturday Aug 7th through Sunday Aug 8th

We will meet at the church at 3pm Saturday and will return 6pm sunday. Sunday evening we will have a family BBQ from 3pm to 5pm. All of your families are invited to this bbq, but if they cannot we will be back at the church at 6pm

NOTE-Sunday afternoon, we will be having a family BBQ and Swim Time in the Lake. Your entire family is invited to this event at no additional cost, but you NEED to let us know how many will be attending so there is enough food and such.

ALSO-Families will be free to take their student home after food and swimming from the retreat center, but if your family cannot attend we will be back at the church by 6pm on Sunday evening.
